Lucey Capital acquires stalled tech companies and undervalued online marketplaces, strips out the drag, and rebuilds them into businesses worth keeping — backed by a shared team across the whole group.
We look for companies that did fine but never made it all the way — real customers, real revenue, tired technology.
We take control, not a minority stake — so decisions can actually get made and acted on.
Accounts, marketing, sales and tech are shared across the group instead of each company carrying its own overhead.
Profitable, well-documented, and boring in the best way. No hype cycle, no burn — just a business that keeps its promises.

Ian has spent over two decades building and investing in technology businesses. He founded the Lucey Fund in 2011, backing more than 150 startups over the following years, and has since shifted focus to acquiring and rebuilding stalled, undervalued tech companies and marketplaces. He currently chairs or directs the active companies across the Lucey Capital group, drawing on a central team to help each one cut costs, modernise its technology, and get back to growth.
From 2012 to 2018 we ran the Lucey Fund, reviewing thousands of businesses a year and backing 150 of them with a central team spanning finance, marketing, sales, development and grant funding.
Idea-stage startups turned out to be a hard way to make money — most founders couldn't code, hadn't run a tech project, and had no customers to lean on. Companies with real revenue, real customers and paid bills were a far better bet.
If you're ready to step back from a company you've built, or you're running a marketplace that's outgrown its own tech, we'd like to hear from you.
